Cherry Talk: “I Want Your Notification More”
Modhaus adds Cherry Talk as its direct messaging feature for fans.
Seoul, South Korea — Modhaus Entertainment, a South Korean music label is home to K-pop girl groups, tripleS and ARTMS (Artemis), has upgraded its company app, COSMOS with the new Cherry Talk feature. Cherry Talk, allows fans of both groups to now connect to their favorite artists through direct messaging.
Cherry Talk is a direct messaging feature within the existing COSMOS app to connect artists and fans. Third-party apps are used in partnership to connect K-pop acts to their fans, but a centralized version hasn’t been available until now. This is part of Modhaus’ strategy to launch the world’s first K-pop artists made and operated by fans.
Cherry Talk was first hinted at through the release of, “Cherry Talk” by +(KR)ystal Eyes, a subunit of tripleS. The music video showed the connections made between the members through the new feature.
tripleS has 24 members, but the whole group rarely promotes all together. Fans vote for which members to promote upcoming music release, forming rotating subunits of tripleS. Fans vote through COSMOS, allowing fans to have direct involvement in their favorite group with each vote brought in the app. tripleS +(KR)ystal Eyes was formed through this process and released “Cherry Talk” last year.
“Cherry Talk allows us to be more direct with fans,” tripleS member Yooyeon said. “There’s a lot of members in the group and other apps won’t provide the same environment we already have. It’s important for us to be close with WAVs”
Modhaus has been successful in customizing existing K-pop products to suit their fan engagement mission.
“Modhaus reached month-over-month profitability in July 2024,” Modhaus co-founder, Joseph Baek said. “The estimated revenue being 17B KRW (12.3M USD) with 7B KRW (5.1M USD) from the platform and COSMOS side.”
As the app updates, fans can now engage directly with their favorite artists without interference. COSMOS gives fans a centralized space for fandoms. Cherry Talk becomes available as the new tripleS subunit, Visionary Vision, debuts.
