Rueda’s Social Media Recommendations

Kidzcope Overview
Integrated Marketing Communication Campaign
Kidzcope, under Wichita Children’s Home, provides no-fee, peer-based grief support for children, ages 3–18, and their caregivers. Dedicated to providing a safe and comforting environment for grieving children and their families, Kidzcope offers all of its services free of charge. Through various forms of creative arts and open conversation, participants navigate grief and foster long-term psychological resilience
The Assignment
In Wichita State’s integrated marketing communication capstone project, students in the integrated marketing communication campaign course were tasked to create a campaign for Kidzcope. In fall 2025, students Briaja Tucker, Emily Rueda, Azka Rafi, Hallie Fritz, Skylar Fleeman and Dayana Almeida strategized a campaign to reach caregivers through an outreach event. In their campaign work social media best practices were drafted by Emily Rueda.
Social media Design Best Practices
DESIGN PRACTICES |
While social media can provide room to be flexible with branding and content it’s recommended to stay within brand standards and Kidzcope has sufficient colors and fonts to create compelling designs as seen below.
Sample posts were designed with a typographic minimalistic look, due to the nature of Kidzcope’s content and audience.
This design choice is also because photos can be difficult to match Kidzcope’s messaging, be misinterpreted or upset audiences. The typographic minimalist look, also appeals to a wide audience and puts the messaging at the forefront.
Heart patterns in various color schemes were made for social media. These patterns used the brand palette and Kidzcope’s signature heart. Repeated use of this heart pattern enforces Kidzcope’s branding in a more light-hearted way.
Geomara font was used primarily to not overwhelm the audience with multiple fonts.

Social Media Content Best practices
BRANDING | Social media content must maintain Kidzcope’s branding. By utilizing brand colors with enough contrast these color combinations were created in the sample post below. Tints and shades of these colors are welcome to create variation. These practices enforce branding with variation.
LOGOS | Logos are not necessary on social media content because of its nature. However, when needed for general posts the house logo is welcomed for branding. It’s recommended because of the house logo’s recognition and simplicity. Although, in events for the general public the main Kidzcope logo should be utilized for awareness.
EMOJIS | Kidzcope should implement emojis when appropriate. Examples include:
- 🤍🤍🤍 Three white hearts to separate body content from resources in grief posts captions.
- 🟡🟡🟡Three yellow circles for suicide related posts to breakdown information.
- 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣Numbered emojis for when information is listed out, like countdown posts.
#HASHTAGS | It’s advised to use local hashtags and national and international recognized days and months hashtags. Hashtags should not be spammed to maintain credibility and professionality.
📞 EMERGENCY CONTACTS 📞 | Emergency contacts should be added in serious posts. These contacts are a mix of nation and local resources. Kidzcope should be aware of ongoing policy changes for these. These can also be used to strengthen community connections.
CTA | Social media post should always have a Call to Action in captions, right before the ending section. CTAs should always align with Kidzcope’s mission. E.G Learn more with the link in the bio
AFFRIMATIONS | Like the CTA, Kidzcope should include affirmations to comfort its audience and to reinforce Kidzcope’s services.
MESSAGING + TONE | Informative. Friendly. Concise. Approachable. Calm. See below for implementation.
CONTENT | Sample content includes, event countdown, affirmations, holiday/family-centric event posts, informational content, etc.
